Women's Recovery Program

  • High-quality, gender-specific program that meets the distinctive treatment needs of women.
  • Recognized as the most comprehensive, cost-effective residential treatment center in the U.S.
  • Program cost is $21,800 for the 90-day program; well below many comparable centers around the nation.
  • The therapeutic community sets MARR apart from other treatment centers. Clients live in therapeutic communities that provide support and accountability for long lasting recovery. In a home-like setting, clients learn to live healthier lives by balancing daily activities of work, groups, and home life together.
  • Program consists of three phases of treatment:
    • Phase I - Over 100 hours of group therapy, 12-Step meetings and worship/spiritual services.
    • Phase II - Work phase; clients incorporate employment along with individual therapy, 12-Step meetings and worship/spiritual services.
    • Phase III - Optional extended recovery program.
  • Group therapy deals with specific women's issues including physical and emotional trauma, sexual abuse, body image, depression and disordered eating.
  • Prior to discharge, a comprehensive aftercare program is designed for each client.
  • MARR offers the Atlanta Recovering Professionals Program (ARP); a special tract specifically designed for medical and other professionals with addiction.   For more information click here.

Right Side Up Program

  • Right Side Up is a Ready for Work program funded by the Georgia Department of Human Resources. 
  • Right Side Up is a 9 to12 month residential, gender-specific program for women with dependent children under the age of 13.
  • Limited number of residential beds are available for low income women without children.
  • Eligible clients…
    • must be residents of DeKalb, Fulton, Gwinnett, Rockdale or Newton County with the exception of pregnant women., who can live in other counties.
    • meets the criteria for Temporary Assistance for  Needy Families (TANF)
    • must have a primary diagnosis of substance abuse and/or substance dependence.
    • may have an active Child Protective Services case with DFACS
    • is pregnant or post partum
  • Services designed to remove barriers to employment, retain or regain custody of children, give birth to drug-free babies, obtain positive parenting skills and sustain drug-free lifestyles.
  • Therapeutic communities set MARR apart from other treatment centers.  Together in a home-like setting, clients learn to live healthier lives by balancing daily activities of work, groups, treatment and their home life together.  Each community offers accountability and support of goals to one another.
  • Program consists of three phases of treatment:
    • Phase I - 90 days treatment in a therapeutic residential setting.  Clients attend          12 -step meetings and receive alcohol and drug education and relapse prevention, health education, anger management, domestic violence, relationship groups.  Client receives individual counseling and parenting classes.
    • Phase II – Work phase; clients incorporate employment along with continued group support, individual counseling, 12-Step meetings and community meetings..
    • Phase III – Work phase continues and client begins to make preparations to move to independent living.
  • Specialized group therapy deals with specific women’s issues of physical and emotional trauma, sexual abuse, domestic violence, survival skills, job training, and GED classes..
  • Offers Therapeutic Child Care (TCC) services for the children;
    • Provides nurturing environment  that addresses and assists families in resolving behavioral issues from a therapeutic perspective.
    • Provides an environment where women in recovery can learn to interact in a nurturing, constructive and healthy manner with their children.
    • Teaching goal to break the cycle of addiction
  • Prior to discharge, client meets with counselor to complete aftercare plans.
