TRADITIONS is a residential treatment program designed for men who need a structured environment and are able to return to employment. Upon admission, a primary counselor is assigned to each man who will obtain a thorough history so that together they can develop an individualized treatment plan to ensure greater success toward recovery. The treatment plan includes specific assignments geared toward each man’s individual recovery needs.  By working with their individual counselor and their therapeutic community, clients gain a clear understanding of the 12-Steps and the disease model of addiction. They also develop a relapse prevention plan and learn healthy patterns of behaviors that will form a foundation for long-term recovery. Clients work during the day and participate in evening group sessions throughout their stay. TRADITIONS is a minimum 4-month commitment treatment program for adult men, aged 18 years and older, who have a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency.

Extended Recovery Residences

After successfully completing all requirements outlined in their treatment plan, clients may be eligible for the extended recovery residences. These communities provide a sober environment with the necessary structure to continue practicing the recovery lifestyle with peer accountability and support.

What is Therapeutic Community?

Addiction is a disease of isolation. At MARR the therapeutic community is the primary treatment agent. Clients live in a therapeutic environment, sharing an apartment/town home with 3 or 4 other clients of the same gender. The community members in one apartment combine with the community members in an adjacent apartment to form a therapeutic community. Together in this homelike setting clients learn to live healthier lives through a connection with God, self and others. Balancing the daily activities of work, groups, treatment and home life in their community is part of the therapeutic value acquired through residential treatment.
An important aspect of the therapeutic process is facilitated through contracts. As part of the community, clients develop growth goals and concrete goals for themselves. These goals, in the form of a contract, are presented to the community to ask for accountability and support toward reaching these goals. Community members become responsible to the other members of their group to support them as they work toward their goals.

Admission Process

It all begins with a phone call. The staff at TRADITIONS are available Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm ET to answer any questions you may have and to provide a free assessment. The assessment will be face to face when possible but for individuals outside metro Atlanta, a phone assessment may be arranged. The assessment covers a variety of topics and generally takes about an hour. Once the assessment is complete and if it is determined that TRADITIONS is the appropriate program for you, an admission date will be scheduled.

For inquiry and admissions, please contact TRADITIONS M-F, 8am-5pm ET at 678-405-5640 or 800-732-5430.

Financial Arrangements

Program cost – The program cost $2200 per month with a $300 admission/intake fee the first month. The fee includes residential treatment services, initial medical evaluation and medical oversight, housing and meals.

Life after TRADITIONS

Completion of all requirements set forth in the individualized treatment plan is certainly a great milestone. However, continued sobriety and living a life of recovery is the goal. Prior to discharge, a comprehensive aftercare plan is established with each client. A therapeutic leave may be used to allow the client to go home and establish aftercare arrangements prior to discharge.
Alumni contacts can provide support for finding resources in the client’s home community such as 12-Step meetings and spiritual life groups. Alumni groups also host meetings (some as frequently as monthly) to support each other’s milestones.

Making referrals to TRADITIONS

Clients may come to TRADITIONS by way of intervention, private therapist, pastor, alumni, family, friend or Internet. However they come, the first step is to make a phone call. The staff will help individuals determine if TRADITIONS is the appropriate treatment option and begin the admission process. Please call M-F, 8am-5pm ET at 678-405-5640.
