MARR gratefully appreciates our many donors each year. Fundraising efforts focus on many priorities, with the top two being the Unrestricted Fund and the Scholarship Fund. Unrestricted gifts support general organization expenses allowing us to continue operating successfully. Scholarship dollars allow clients with limited resources the opportunity for treatment. The annual Celebration of Recovery banquet in November provided the Scholarship Fund with over $180,000 for 2010. The Imlay Foundation and an Anonymous donor both contributed $15,000 to the Scholarship Fund, which will help individuals receive treatment that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford.
Bill Porter, a MARR board member, was instrumental in securing a $10,000 donation from The Wilbur and Hilda Glenn Family Foundation to update MARR’s website and provide the resources to create online webinars and training.
Fulton County Board of Commissioners under the guidance of the Human Services Department’s Grant Programs awarded Right Side Up $25,000 to begin growing the planned Education and Job Skills Training Program. Right Side Up also received a $4,500 grant from The Bank of America Charitable Foundation, Inc., and $4,165 from the Junior League of Atlanta.
MARR is considered one of the most cost-effective treatment programs in the nation, which is largely due to the generosity and support of the foundations, corporations and individuals that believe in our mission. We thank each and every one of you for your kindness and munificence.
