Meet Bob Day

Job Title: Men’s Recovery Center Program Director
Credentials: MA, LPC
Education Background: Bob graduated from The University of South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration in 2007. He earned a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University in 2015.
Work History: When Bob was in college, he worked with a campus ministry mentoring younger students. He says there was something about that type of relationship that struck a chord with him, and led him to pursue coursework in psychology. Bob began working at MARR’s Men’s Recovery Center in 2014 as a Primary Counselor Intern. He accepted a full-time Primary Counselor position in May 2015. Bob was later promoted to Lead Primary Counselor, and ultimately to Director of MRC in October 2021. Prior to pursuing a career in counseling, Bob worked for 8 years as a barista at Starbucks.

“I think part of what creates the “MARR magic” is that on some level there’s a prerequisite to working here: you must be willing to make an investment in, and provide a certain type of care for, all of our clients. If you’re unable to do that, working here isn’t for you. What I love most about this place is our style of relational care, and being able to remain connected with our alumni.”
